    • The principle of Equality
      • People are not treated equally and suffer from prejudice and discrimination.
        • Prejudice is basing an opinion on peoples without any knowledge of them.
        • Descrimination is acting on that opinion eg. cruelty to a black person - racism.
      • Descrimination = prejudice + power
      • Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
    • Bible teaching about equality
      • Jesus taught you must love others.
      • "There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." Pauls teaching.
      • Mother Teresa encouraged equality by founding Missionaries. She lived by the Parable of the Sheep and the Goats (Matthew 25), Christians must care for the poor and the hungry.
    • Christian attitudes towards racism
      • Christians opposed to all prejudice and discrimination.
      • The Good Samaritan - shows you should treat all people well.
      • Martin Luther King Jr - a baptist minister, fought against racism in America.
      • However the christian church have committed acts of racism. Eg, the crusades,slave owning, etc.
    • Christian attitudes towards the role of women in Christian society.
      • Some Christians believe that men and women should have equal rights and roles:
        • Jesus shows respects when a woman anoints him with oil.
        • Women worshipped with disciples in early Church days.
      • Others think that women and men should have different roles.
        • Genesis 2 - woman is made as mans helper.
        • Genesis 3 - woman sinned first.
        • Jesus is critical of his mother at a wedding (John 2:3-4a)
        • Paul's first letter to Corinthians he insists women must be silent and keep their heads covered in church.
        • In RCC and Orthodox church the priest represents Jesus, cannot be a woman.
    • Christian attitudes to other religions.
      • The new testament teaches only Jesus's followers go to heaven: "I am the way and the truth and the life", "Noone comes to the Father except through me."
      • Evangelists try to spread Jesus' word, following his command to "Go and make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28)
      • Missionaries and the Salvation are strong evangelists, helping and trying to convert people.
      • Ecunemism is the movement of Christian denominatins working together.
      • Recently many Christians have started working towards interfaith dialogue.
    • Forgiveness and reconciliation
      • God is merciful and forgives people as we should forgive others "Forgive our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us"
      • The Eucharist is a time for forgiveness and reconciliation by remembering Jesus' sacrifice.
      • RCC priests have the power to forgive sins on behalf of God.
      • Jesus taught forgiveness in the parables of the Lost Sheep, Lost Son and Unforgiving Servant.
  • Everyone should have the same rights and freedoms whoever and wherever they are.

Sorry, try just printing it on more pages and it might be bigger. Don't have time currently to do anything as I've barely done any revision for most subjects :s
