    • Bronchodilators
      • A substance that dilates the bronchi and bronchioles, decreasing resistance in the respiratory airway and increasing airflow to the lungs
      • Most useful in obstructive lung diseases such as asthma and COPD
      • Salbutamol is for treating sudden and severe asthma symptoms. It is a B2-agonist
      • Salmeterol and Formoterol are taken routinely in order to control and prevent bronchoconstriction.
    • Antimuscarinic agents
      • Drugs used for the treatment of COPD and acute asthma
        • Blocks the muscarinic acetylcholine receptors in the smooth muscles of the bronchi in the lungs, opening the bronchi.
    • Methylaxanthine Bronchodilators
      • Drugs used in therapy for COPD and asthma
    • Inhaled corticosteroids
      • Rupture of mast cells inhibited, synthesis of inflammatory mediators diminished and new antibody production halted
