      • Deserve to be equal
      • have the same feelings, emotions and thoughts.
      • Equal members of god's family
      • Made in god's image
      • All treasured by god
    • “There is neither Jew nor Greek, male nor female, slave nor free. For you are all one in Christ Jesus” Galatians 3:28
    • How a Christian would respond to prejudice and discrimination(eg. racism)
      • Preach the bible
      • Peacefully protest
      • Champaign for changes in the law
      • Educate, to get rid of ignorance about other people
      • Speak out against it
      • try to bring greater understanding, tolerance and repect
    • Quotes
      • Martin luther King
        • "hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that"
        • “I have a dream that one day children of different races will sing together: free at last!”
      • The parable of the good samaritan
        • An example of agape love: it flows unconditionally to those who need it
        • The Samaritans and the Jews hated each other, but here the samaritan puts aside his prejudice as he comes to the aid of the injured jew
    • Roles
      • Traditional
        • Some Christians think women should fulfil traditional roles in the family and let the men go out and work. (Wives submit to your husbands...”)
      • Modern
        • Others would say they should enjoy exactly the same opportunities as men and households should be equal.  (“He created them male and female, blessed them… “)
    • Woman's   Ordination
      • For
        • the church must move with the times, women are equal to men.
        • Jesus was friends with Martha & Mary; he appeared to the women first on Easter Sunday.
      • Against
        • “women must be silent in church”.
        • A woman cannot consecrate the bread and wine as Jesus was a man
    • Forgiveness and reconciliation
      • Reconciliation happens when people are united after conflict
      • Beliefs
        • The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant reminds us that if we don’t forgive others, God won’t forgive us!
        • With no forgiveness, people will want revenge. The problem just gets worse.
        • “Forgive us our sins, as we forgive others who sin against us” This Lord’s Prayer unites Christians across the world
        • Follow the example of Jesus who said on the cross “forgive them father, they know not what they do”
        • The Parable of the Lost Son reminds us that God the Father welcomes home sinners, and so should we.
        • Without forgiveness, you always hold a grudge. You need to get rid of your grudges so you can be happy.
    • How Christians come together
      • Communion
        • "though we are many we are one body because we all share in one bread"
      • The ecumenical community
        • tries to unite Christians of different denominations, Taize in France is an ecumenical event because young Christians from lots of different churches come together to study, pray and worship
    • How Christians   respond to other Christians
      • Excusivisium: some would say christianity is the right religion and all the others are wrong
        • because Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”. Also, they’d say Christianity was proved to be the right religion when Jesus resurrected from the dead. If you don’t believe, you may go to hell. So they might try to convert people from other faiths, or no faith, to Christianity. They would be evangelical about their religion and tell everyone about it by preaching, calling at homes and distributing leaflets. They might even go abroad and become a missionary.
      • Pluralism: think all religions have value and all share common aims and morals
        • God won’t send non-Christians to hell as maybe you’ve just been born in a country where Christianity is little known. God is a loving and forgiving God.  This type of Christian would be interested in learning about other religions and sharing ideas. They wouldn’t try to convert non-Christians.
