  • Physics Paper 1
    • Falling objects. Energy lost from GPE store= Energy gained in kinetic energy store
    • Conduction. Vibrating particles transfer energy to neighbouring particles
    • Convection= occurs in liquids and gases. Particles move from hotter to cooler regions
    • Current= the flow of electrons. PD=   the driving force that pushes the charge around
    • Length of wire Increase= resistance increase
    • Ohmic Conductors. Resistor at constant temperature. Straight line directly proportional
    • Filament Lamp. Current increase, the resistance increases. Less current can flow so the graph is a  shallow curve
    • Diode. Current in 1 direction
    • Light Dependent Resistors. Intensity of light. Bright light the resistance falls
    • Thermistor. Hot conditions the resistance drops
    • Neutral Wire.  Completes the circuit and carries current away. Electricity leaves the neutral wire at 0 volts
    • Live Wire. Provides alternating PD at 230 volts. Electricity flows in. Can give you a shock.
