- Elected by public. Member of Parliament. General elections every 5 yrs. Government formed by political party which has a majority in the HC.
- House of Lords
- Non-elected Body. 1999 labour reviewed membership of HL & decided it should consist of some nominated members and some elected members. 92 hereditary peers, life peers, most senior bishops and the Church of England.
- Note that 12 most senior judges used to sit in HL, but no longer do so. They are now separate from Parliament and sit as the Supreme Court.
