THIS IS ONLY THE FIRST PAGE OF YOUR REVISION BOOK. IT EXPLAINS THE ELECTROMAGNETIC SPRCTRUM AND PHOTONS. IT ALSO EXPLAINS THE AMOUNT OF ENERGY TRANSFERED.

  • P2- Radiation and Life
    • Electromagnetic Radiation
      • Radiation is a transfer of energy.
      • There are seven types of radiation altogether- making up the electromagnetic spectrum.
        • RADIO WAVES
        • MICRO WAVES
        • INFRA RED
        • VISIBLE LIGHT  (RAINBOW)
        • ULTRA VIOLET
        • X-RAYS
        • GAMMA RAYS
      • All types of electromagnetic radiation transfers energy. this energy is delivered as photons.
        • A photon is a tiny "packet" of energy.
        • Each photon carries a tiny quantity of energy, but not all photons have the same amount of energy. the amount of energy carried by a photon depends on the frequency of the radiation.
          • The frequency  increases as you go along the electromagnetic spectrum.  Radio waves has the lowest frequency and the least energy, and gamma rays will have the highest frequency and the most energy.
      • Many objects emit electromagnetic radiation.
