      • AR - Causing the apprehension of immediate unlawful violence
      • MR - Intention or recklessness as to causing such pprehension
      • Summary offence - same as assault
    • Battery
      • Source of Law: same as Assault
      • AR - Inflicting unlawful force.
      • MR - Intention or recklessness as to the infliction of force.
      • Summary offence - fine; level 5, 6 months imprisonment or both.
    • Assault occasioning ABH
      • s.47, OAPA 1861
      • AR - (I) AR of assault / battery. (ii) which causes. (iii) ABH
      • MR - MR of assault / battery
      • Either way offence - 5 years imprisonment
    • Maliciously wounding or inflicting GBH
      • s.20, OAPA 1861
      • AR - wounding or inflicting GBH
      • MR - intention or recklessness as to causing some harm
      • Either way offences - imprisonment 5 years.
    • Wounding or causing GBH with intent
      • s.18, OAPA 1861
      • AR - Wounding or causing GBH
      • MR - Intention to cause GBH
      • Indictable only offences - imprisonment for life.
