  • light dependent
    • cyclic photo phosphorylation
      • 1: light energy reaches leaf and PS! in chlorophyll a absorbs the light
      • 2: the gain in energy increases kinetic energy and a light excited electron is emitted
      • 3: electron is accepted by and electron acceptor with is ETC
      • 4: as the electron moves down an energy level energy is release
      • 5: this energy is used in chemiosmosis and ADP synthesised to ATP
      • 6: the electron then re-enter PS1
    • non-cyclic photo phosphorylation
      • 1: water is split by photolysis 02 is waster and e enters PS11
      • 2: light energy hits PS11 and an increase in kinetic energy makes a light excited electron be emitted
      • 3: it is accepted by electron acceptor which is the ETC
      • 4: as the electron moves down the energy levels energy is provided for chemiosmosis ADP synthesises to ATP
      • 5: the electron then enters PS1 and becomes light excited and is emitted
      • 6: they can either make ATP via cyclic photo phos. or combine with H from photolysis and NADP to from NADPH
        • it was reduced by NADP reductase
