- Plants - Plants need light, carbon dioxide and water to survive.
  - Plants in hot places need a lot of water because in these conditions photosynthesis happens quickly.
  - Most desert plants have leaves with a small surface area, less water can be lost.
    - Some Plants have broad leaves.
  - Plants compete for, light, space, water and nutrients.
    - They change their surface area to get these factors.

      - Seeds that are adapted for flight
      - Hooks that cling onto animals fur.

      - Fat underneath skin
      - Coats change colour in the different seasons for camouflage
    - Animals in hot places are adapted to minimize water loss and withstand high temperature.
      - Most active early in the morning and late at night.
        Small surface area
        
        Large ears to increase surface ear so the loose heat.
      - Sandy brown coats to match the colour of the dried grass as camouflage.
  - Animals compete for food.
