    • The Dollfuss Affair, 1934
      • Hitler planned to unite Austria and Germany. The chancellor of Austria was killed by Austrian Nazi party, Hitler encouraged the party. Hitler attempted to invade Austria but Mussolini stopped him.
    • The Saar, 1935
      • The League of Nations held a referendum for people to vote whether the area should return to German rule. 90% of the population voted to return to German rule.
    • German rearmament and conscription
      • Hitler began conscription and as a result thousands of unemployed people were off the streets. Hitler made a point that no other countries has disarmed. Hitler was very sly as he promised that he would not rearm Germany if all other nations destroyed their arms, but at the same time he was rearming as he knew that the nations would not do  it.

    • The Anglo-German Naval Agreement, June 1935
      • Britain signed a pact with Hitler which allowed Germany to increase its navy to 35% of the size of the British navy. This angered the French but there was little they could do.
