      • Blood, Springtime, Air
      • Phlegm, Wintertime, Water.
    • He believed that the body was made up of these humors and needed to be kept in balance.
    • If one of these humors was not in balance, a person was ill, a doctor would get rid of it.
      • E.g. blood perging.
    • He insisted that all diseases had physical causes and rejected any magical or supernatural causes.
