- Pip and Family live on the moors- Poverty. Pip moves to the city because his new found wealth allows him to move to the city

- Pip only has minimal education whereas Estella has had an education thanks to Miss Havisham
- Mr Jaggers has had an education- he works as a lawyer, he has more wealth than Pip
- Crime and Punishment
- Magwitch is punished for committing a crime (later find that he didn't) and is imprisoned for it
- Pip commits a crime by helping Magwitch escape however he is never punished- just moves abroad to work for Herbert
- Physical Description
- Mrs Joe Gargery is described as dressed in domestic clothing whereas Joe is usually in his clothes suitable to manual labour
- When Pip gets access to money- he begins to wear suits and more refined clothing
