    • Intensive farming practices increas productivity.
      • They can increase the efficiency of energy conversion.
        • More the energy organisms have is used for growth and less is used for other activities, eg. recovering from disease.
      • They can remove growth limiting factors.
        • More of the energy available can be us for growth.
      • They can increase energy output.
        • More energy is added to the ecosystem so there's more energy for growth.
