      • this means black surfaces lose heat and cool down

      • shiny surfaces absorb infrared radiation slower than black matt surfaces.
      • shiny surfaces reflect more infrared radiation than dark surfaces
      • hotter surfaces emit radiation quicker than cool surfaces.
    • objects are absorbing and emitting infrared radiation at the same time.  If infrared radiation is emitted faster than it is absorbed then the objects cools down.
