- caves
- joints in a cliff are widened due to joint guided erosion.and eventually over time a cave is formed.
- arches
- a cave continues to erode until it has breached both sides of the cliff, this becomes an arch
- stacks
- eventualy the arches roof collapses due to erosion and weathering. this segrogates this from the rest of the coast line and it becomes a stack
- headlands
- different bands of rock erode at diffrerent speeds this creates a headland.
- bays
- a bay is formed when the softer rock type is eroded back more quickly
- coves
- a band of harder rock is breached giving way to softer rock which erodes quickly until another band of harder rock is met
