  • Classical conditioning.
    • Pavlov.
      • Pavlov showed how easy it was for an animal to learn a response by associating two stimuli together.
      • Dogs used.
      • Early 1900s.
    • Learning through association.
      • Occurs when two stimuli are repeatedly paired together so that a desired response can occur.
    • UCS produces an UCR.
      • UCS = food.
      • UCR = Salavtion.
    • NS produces no response.
      • NS = Bell.
    • NS + UCS.
      • This happens during conditioning and could take years for it to be successful.
        • During conditioning bell and food occur at the same time.
    • CS produces a CR.
      • CS = Bell.
      • CR = Salvation.
      • This process occurs after conditioning (association).
