- The Kaiser was very jealous of Britain's Empire and Army
- The Arms Race made it clear that war was 'to come'
- By 1914 Germany's military personal had tripled
- From 1906 onwards Germany and Britain were in a race to make the most dreadnoughts
- By the start of the first world war Britain had commissioned 20 dreadnoughts where as Germany had 15.
