- Klaus and Kennel: Mums who had physical contact lasting many hours had more giggles and cuddles with their baby a month later compared to mothers who only had contact during feeding. Suggests physical contact = close bond.
- Melzoff and Moore: infants of 2-3 weeks old tended to mimic adults' facial expressions and hand movements. So infant mimicry is an innate ability to aid formations of attachments
- Papousek: caregiverese and using a rising tone was found in mothers from America, China and Germany. It is cross-cultural so therefore is innate to facilitate attachment.
- Codon and Sander: found that infants' movements coordinated in sequence with adults' speech to form a turn taking conversation, supporting interactional synchrony.
