year 11 Biolagy

?
What is an ecosystem?
is the interaction of a community, living organisms with non- living parts of the enviroment.
1 of 17
Biodiversity?
Varity of plants species, more habitats variety sourcer.
2 of 17
How do farmers reduce biodiversity?
They can grow only one crop so no virety of food, only one small number of species can survive.
3 of 17
Abiotic factors include:
Temperature, light intensity, oxygen levels aquatic animals, carbon dioxide levels plkants, moisture, soil pH, mineral content, wind intensity.
4 of 17
Biotic factors:
Pathogens, predators and a competition between species.
5 of 17
What are the changes in abiotic factors affect?
Organisms found on a rocky shore.
6 of 17
Where can organisms survive?
Organisms can survive in dryer conditions, live as the top of the shore.
7 of 17
What is a stable community?
It is were biotic and abiotic factors are in balance so the populations size stays constant.
8 of 17
producers?
are an organism that make thire own food. They are usually green plant, which makes glucose molecules by photosynthesis
9 of 17
Prey?
are animals eaten by other animals.
10 of 17
what is a primary consumer?
it is an organism that feeds on primary producers
11 of 17
what is a secondry consumer?
they eat primary consumers for energy
12 of 17
predators?
hunt and kill then eat
13 of 17
arrows on the diagram represent the flow of energy in a food web or a food chain.
parasites?
14 of 17
is when an organism benefits but the other dosen't
some parasites are called:
15 of 17
tape worms and skin worms
question:
16 of 17
One thing that could happen if the field mice increases is their will be less caterpillars and bugs because their is more mice to consume them.
A second thing that could happen is if the field mice increases. Their is more food for the owl to consume therefore the mice population will decrease and the owl populatuion will increase.
