What are the eight major word classes?
Nouns, adjectives, pronouns, prepositions, verbs, adverbs, conjunctions and determiners

Used to name people, places, objects, feelings, ideas etc.

What are the types of nouns?
Common nouns: concrete, abstract and collective, and proper nouns.

Proper nouns
Refers to the name of a specific person or place.

Refers to things that have a material existence.

Abstract nouns
Refer to things that do not exist physically.
