What are the advantages and disadvantages of Digital Audio Broadcasting?
As DAB receives digital signals this means there is less interference and more stations are available. However some areas cannot receive DAB as the short wavelength signal cannot diffract around hills.

They do this to avoid interference, which can cause sound to be distorted.

Refraction in the many layers of the Earth's atmosphere results in waves changing direction. Diffraction at the edge of transmission dishes causes the waves to spread out, causing signal loss.
