What is Crime and Deviance?
Crime is an act which break the law, for example drug dealing. Deviance is an act which breaks the norms and social vales of society and receives a negative reaction and a disapproval by others, for example shouting in the library.

what is Formal and Informal rules?
Formal rules are written down rules for example laws and codes of conduct. School rule are formal rules for students in the school. whereas, Informal rules are unwritten rules which are often taken for granted.

What is Social Order?
social order is when society is stable and runs smoothly, without social order there would be chaos in society.

what is the Consensus Approach?
this is the functionalist view – social order requires individuals and groups to co-operate and work together. Social order occurs when individuals agree upon and share the same norms and values.

What is the Conflict Approach?
this is the Marxist view- society is based on class inequality and unfairness between two groups. the bourgeousie own the means of production where as the proleterait owe nothing, so they are forced to work for them, in exchange for wages .
