State the characteristics of a Composite Volcano
Made up of ash and lava thats erupted, cooled and hardened in to layers. The lava is usaully thick and flows slowly. It hardens quickly to form a steep-sided volcano

State the characteristics of a Shield Volcano
made up of only lava. The lava is runny. it flows quickly and spreads over a wide area, forming a low, flat volcano.

State the characteristics of a Dome Volcano
Made up of only lava. The lava is thick. it fows slowly and hardens quickly, forming a steep-sided volcano.

How Volcanoes are formed on a contructive plate margin.
The magma rises up in to the gap created by the plates moving apart, forming a volcano.

Hotspots.
some volcanoes also form over part of the mantle that are really hot. e.g. in Hawaii.
