Why Kennedy and Johnson took America to war with Vietnam?
Kennedy and Johnson took America to war with Vietnam because they were worried about the domino theory. This was the idea that if south Vietnam fell to communism then other countries would also fall. Kennedy and Johnson were strongly anti-communist.

Hi-tech War- using bombers, heavy artillery, helicopters, napalm and agent orange. Search and Destroy- US patrols went out looking for the Vietcong. This led to Zippo raids to burn villages and the massacre on peaceful civilians at My Lai in 1968.

They fought a guerilla war, ambushing the us patrols, setting booby traps, land mines and bombs in towns. They would were ordinary clothes to disguise themselves as ordinary villagers. Ho chi minh trail and " hang on to the american troops belts".
