Two limitations of sampling.

Sampling biased and recults may be down to chance.

How does one eliminate sampling biases?

By removing the persons resposibility to choose the sample. So reandom sampling would be used. This is when everybody in the target population has an equale chance of being selected.

How can we minimise the effect of chance on our samples?

Using a large smaple size. and analysing the data that is collected, which will put light onany per centage that the variation is due to chance.

What are the causes of variation?

Genectic diversity and enviromnental influences.

How does genetic differences cause variation?

Mutations that can occure in gametes (meiosis) or during the life time of the organism, which can be passed on to offspring. Alternatively in can happen when gametes fuse to prodece cells of equall chromosomes to that of the parent organism.

How do enviromental influences effect variation?

The environment effects how an organisms genes are expresses. For example, they might have a gene that says thay can eat nuts as well as insects, which the others are unable to to. This means when there is a lack of insects that organism can survive.

How does one calculate standard deviation?

The square root of the sum of the measured value subtract the mean value, squared over total number of values subtract one.

What is standard deviation?

The range of values either side of the mean value.
