They cause the plant to grow out of control so they die

The broad leaved weeds rapidly absorb the weed killer whilst the narrow leaved grasses don't absorb it at all

Ethernet, produced by fruits as they ripen

Why are fruit ripening hormones useful?
Fruit can be picked when not ripe then shipped to foreign countries for sale. When they arrive, they are ripened in ethane so they are not sold over-ripe
