Add benedicts solution and HEAT, colour change: blue to a brick-red-precipitate

Non-Reducing Sugars e.g. sucrose
Do a negative test using Benedicts (no colour change). HYDROLYZE with HCl into initial monosaccharides. Test again with benedicts and HEAT, colour change: blue to a brick-red-precipitate.

dip CLINISTIX (impregnated with chemicals) into solution. colour change: yellow to purple.

Starch test
add a few drops of iodine to solution, colour change: yellow/brown to blue/black.
