Risks
> Care must be taken when looking down the microscope if the illumination is too bright.
> Care must be taken when using microscope stains.
> Care must be taken when handling coverslips and microscope slides.

Parts of a light microscope - The objective lens and the eye piece
The objective lens and the eyepiece: The light microscope uses two lenses to the size of the specimen to be viewed and the level of detail required. The eyepiece lets the view the magnified sepimen and the objejective lens selects the magnification that c

The fine focus and coarse focus
The fine focus knob focuses by moving the lens slowly and is used to focus on the specimen more clearly and is used with the high-power objective lens.
The coarse focus knob is used to move the objective lens towards or away from the specimen

Method of the experiment
( Steps 1 - 3 )
1. Rotate the objective lens so that low power is in line with the stage
2. Turn the coarse focus is as close to the objective lens as possible don't look through the microscope to do this.
3. Place the microscope slide on the stage line it up so that it

Methods of the experiment
( steps 3 -6 )
> Focus the slide towards you by turning the coarse focus adjustment.
> Draw a low power image - or a digital image. Then rotate the objectives so that the high power objective is in line with the stage.
> Bring the slide back into focus using the fine fo

Overall information about the experiment
> Observe examples of an animal cell and a plant cells, an example of an animal cell that could be used is check cells and an example of a plant cell is onion or Elodea.
> Make sure that you include scale in your diagram.
