Control Technology
changes energy flow through the hydraulic system
1 of 8
Motor
Powered by mains or renewable energy, needs to have torque so strong enough to drive the pump gears - should be controlled by the control unit - will be reversible (so ramp can go down again)
2 of 8
Hydraulic Pump
Fluid pumped by the rotation of gear components - increases pressure
3 of 8
Hydraulic Ram
Two seals with oil inside - air forces jack to extend which causes the ram to extend due to the movement of the piston - Some oil sent through system and some which is released is sent to the hydraulic reservoir
4 of 8
Hydraulic Reservoir
Used to hold excess fluid to accommodate the volume changes in the system
5 of 8
Limit Switch
Will be used to provide limits for the amount of distance that the ramp can travel -> so the control system is told when the ramp is at its highest or lowest position
6 of 8
Manual Over- Ride
Connected directly to the power supply -> if an error occurs the electricity is turned off and ramp can be operated manually
7 of 8
Cable Gears
Cable Gears and Cables act as a pulley system -> removes the requirement of 4 seperare hydraulic systems, all of which would be required to be synchronized with each other
