Ethnicity
The shared cultural traditions and history which is distinct from other groups in society. Modern Britain is said to be multicultiral, made up of many ethnic groups.

Higher Levels of achievement
Survey found that Chinese,African Asians and Indian groups were more qualified than whites. Afro-caribbean were more likey to have Alevels than white women.

Ethnic minorities were more likely than white pupils to continue into further education, from ages 16-19 years old.

Bangladeshi and Pakistani women were least well qualified. Afro-caribbean,Pakistani and Bangladeshimen were least qualified.

Pakistani and Afro-caribbean groups were less likely to get onto university courses, and more likely to get into less prestigious universities.

Again Lower Level of achievement
Afro-caribbean boys are more likely to be excluded from school, more likely to be put into lower streams and more likely to do vocational courses.
