Advantages of TEMS?
High magnification of 150,000 and a high resolution of 0.0001 um. Denser parts absorb more, which means they end up darker on the image, so you can see it clearer. you can record the image onto a photograph.

Disadvantages to TEMS?
Can only see it in a vacuum, so you can't see living organisms. Can only see the inner structure, not the outer 3D structure, can only be used on thin specimins.

Can use thick organisms, You can see the outer 3D structure as well as inner.

Disadvantages of SEMS?
Lower magnification of 1500. And lower resolution of 0.2 um. Still can only see it in a vacum.
