Conneticut compromise. Lower House (HOR) States represented proportionally, Upper house (senate) states represented equally (two per state)

What compromise in terms of election procedure for Congress was made?
Some wanted direct elections by the people while some wanted indirect. Founding Fathers decided HOR would be directly elected and the Senate indirectly elected - appointed by state legislatures.

In 1914 with the 17th amendment first elections were held . Now senators are directly elected by the people.
