What is a reconstituted family?
Two different families bought together through marriage to create a new family unit

What is a nuclear family?
Traditional family unit of two parents with children, usually two or more and are biologically related

What is a lone parent?
A single parent looking after a child or children on their own

What is an extended family?
A family consisting of parents and children who live with grandparents or aunties/uncles

Somebody looks after a child for a short amount of time, temporarily

Somebody becomes a legal parent/guardian for a child and looks after them permanently

What is a male condom?
A barrier method. A thin sheath that covers the penis and stops the sperm from meeting the egg

Barrier method. A thin rubber that goes inside the woman and stops the sperm from meeting the egg

What is the coil (IUD)?
A T shaped plastic device inserted into the uterus. It causes hormone to change to stop pregnancy

What is the contraceptive pill?
Pills that contain hormones. They are taken by the woman and prevent ovulation

What is the implant?
A flexible plastic rod inserted under the skin on the arm of a woman. The hormone it releases thickens the cervix opening with mucus and thins the uterus lining

What is the injection?
An injection for a woman containing hormones that prevent an egg being released and cause the opening of the cervix to thicken

What is a diaphragm?
A silicon dome that is covers the opening to the vagina and is a barrier method

What is Natural Family Planning?
Knowing when the woman is ovulating and refraining from sex during this time
