what is genetic predisposition?
A genetic predisposition is an increased likelihood of developing a particular disease based on a person's genetic makeup

what is cystic fibrosis?
inherited condition, causes sticky mucus to build up in lungs causing lung infections + problems digesting food.

a faulty gene that affects movement of salt and water in and out of cells

recurring chest infections, wheezing, difficulty putting on weight.

the body has too much fatty acid called cholesterol in blood, it may run in families but mostly caused by eating fatty food, smoking, drinking alcohol and being overweight.

when body cannot break down glucose into energy. Type 1- pancreas no longer produces insulin so it has to be injected. Type 2 - not enough insulin is produced

- this happens when a woman drinks through pregnancy ,the alcohol passes through the placenta to the baby who cant process it. This can damage the brain and other parts of the body
