What is a independent variable?
This is the one the researcher manipulates

What is a dependent variable?
This is the measured outcome and the independent variable causes this change

What is a confounding variable?
This is not controlled by the researcher and can sometimes have a negative effect or jeopardise the dependent variable. If the confounding variable were to occur it may make results invalid

What is operationalisation?
This is when a variable is defined by the researcher and a way of measuring that variable is developed for the research

What is a participants variables?
This is found in independent groups, when the participants in the group make the results bias

What is a extraneous variable?
This is when the independent variable has an effect on the dependent variable.
