Flash storage
Any type of data repository or storage system that uses flash memory. Does not need a PSU. Fast but expensive, small, limited amount of writes and erases.
1 of 5
Cloud storage
Based on the internet, can be accessed anywhere on any device with an internet connection. Have to pay to get more storage on most.
2 of 5
Hard Disk Drive
Mechanical due to disk and read/write head inside, can spin up to 7,200RPM. Cheap, non-volatile. Not that fast, easy to break (dropping it), use power to read/write.
3 of 5
Optical drives
Uses laser light or electromagnetic waves within or near the visible light spectrum to read/write data. Great for archiving, once written cannot be overwritten. Require a specific drive to use (becoming obsolete), not a lot of storage
