What is Distributive shock?
Distributive shock is where there is an increased permeability in the blood vessels and a decrease in systemic vascular resistance. This leads to tissue hypo perfusion and multi organ failure.
1 of 8
What is Obstructive shock?
It is a form of shock associated with physical obstruction of the great vessels or the heart itself. This causes a reduction in cardiac output, which leads to tissue hypo perfusion and multi organ failure.
2 of 8
What is Hypovolemic shock?
It is when there is rapid fluid loss resulting in multi organ failure due to inadequate circulating volume and subsequent inadequate tissue perfusion.
3 of 8
What is Cardiogenic shock?
It is where the heart is failing to supply enough blood to the body due to an electrical/pump problem, resulting a decreased cardiac output and tissue hypo perfusion and multi organ failure.
