State School
They are funded by the state, free of charge for British citizens, follow the national curriculum and also ran by local authorities.

Funded by the central government, non-profitable charity, meet the same national curriculum and more free will on what is taught/how the school is ran.

Comprehensive School
Does not select from academic achievement, 90% of British pupils attend them.
3 of 7
Free Schools
Funded by government but not ran by the local council, more control over what they do, select pupils from academic achievement, set there own pay and change length of normal school terms/days.
4 of 7
Private Schools
Also known as 'Independent School', they charge to attend as not funded by the government, pupils do not follow the national curriculum, inspected regularly.

Faith Schools
Free to teach about their own religion, follow the national curriculum.

Public School
Private fee-paying secondary, mostly independent, 1% of the total number of UK schools, multi-racial.
