What is Net Rural-Urban Migration?
The NET movement of people from rural areas to cities (i.e. rural depopulation)
Examples: - South Uist Outer Hebrides, Scotland
- Sichuan to Shanghai, China
- Uttar Pradesh to Dharavi, Mumbai, India

Net Urban-Rural Migration
The movement of people away from the city to the countryside (i.e. counter urbanisation).
Mainly occurs in HICs.
Example: - Southwark in London to St Ives, Cambridgeshire

Example: - London to Birmingham
