written communication
Involves the use of written words or info we wish to convey. It can be used in informal and formal situations, such as letters, memos, emails and texts.

verbal communication
there are a number of paralinguistic skills that ca make all the difference to what is being said and can therefore help or hinder communication. These include; volume, tone, pitch and pace.

non-verbal communication
includes; body language, gestures, mime and drama, music and arts. People can sometimes say a lot without saying words.

graphical communication
uses visual material to convey information such as drawings, maps, signs, text and diagrams.

alternative methods of communication
includes sign language, makaton, braille and widget. These are used when other methods of communication are not possible, such as when the patient is blind or deaf.
