Spotting
The use of head and eyes during turns and spins. Look at a fixed point in front,commence turning leaving head looking at the point for as long as possible,then whip the head round to look at the same spot. Spotting is taken in the direction of travel

Simple spin
Step to side wit arms in level opposition, pull arms in, bringing feet together on balls of feet. Lower heels, opening arms out

Compass turn
Step to the side and turn with the opposite leg extended to the side, which is maintained throughout the spin.

Pivot turn 1
Step forward making a turn away from the stepping foot at the same time transferring the weight onto the opposite foot.

Pivot turn 2
From a ball change- full rotation towards back foot

Preparation foot
three steps turning either right or left

three steps turning, feet do not close
