Positive Symptoms of Schizophrenia
These appear as a distortion of everyday behaviour: Delusions and Hallucinations.

Negative Symptoms of Schizophrenia
These appear as a decrease of loss of everyday functions: Lack of Motivation and Lack of Apathy.

Chemotherapy
Aims to correct Biochemical imbalances in the brain, such a high levels of dopamine.

Conventional anti-psychotic
These drugs combat positive symptoms, for example Hallucinations.

Atypical anti-psychotics
These drugs combat both positive and negative symptoms.

Evaluations of anti-psychotics
Anti-psychotics can cause side effects: Tardive Dyskineasia. The drugs only treat the symptoms of schizophrenia and not the underlying cause of the disorder. Ethical:can a schizophrenic give fully informed consent to thier treatment.
