What are the main types of blood vessels?
Arteries, Veins & Cappillaries

What can be used to open blocked vessels?
Stents are used to kepp narrow or blocked arteries open.

What does your blood plasma transport?
Dissolved food molecules, carbon dioxide, urea and blood cells suspended in it.

How are Red blood cells adapted to carry oxygen?
They are Bioconcave, giving them a larger surface area. By containing haemoglobin, and no nucleus so more haemoglobin can fit in.

What do White blood cells and Platelets do?
White blood cells help with the body's defense system and Platelets are involved in clotting of the blood.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of artificial blood?
Advantages: Always available, doesn't need to be stored in a fridge, no blood group match needed. Diadvantages: Expensive, Doesn't carry as much oxygen, Broken down very quickly in the body, can cause unpleasant side effects.

What does the Phloem transport and what does the Xylem transport?
The Phloem transports dissolved suagars from the leaves to the rest of the plants. The Xylem water and mineral ions.
