HAEMOGLOBIN
chemical in the body and it combines with oxygen to assist diffusion, carried as oxyhaemoglobin in the blood.
1 of 6
MYOGLOBIN
pigment found in the muscles, has a higher affinity for oxygen than haemoglobin and stores and carries oxygen in the muscle
2 of 6
A-VO2 DIFF
difference in oxygen conent in artertial blood and venous blood, it increases at exercise as muscles extract large amounts of oxygen from the blood.
3 of 6
BOHR SHIFT
oxygen dissociation curve moves to right because of increase in blood acidity, increase CO2 and increase in temperature
4 of 6
CO2 TRANSPORT IN BLOOD
dissolved in plasma, as a bicarbonate ion, carbominohaemoglobin
5 of 6
OXYGEN TRANSPORTED IN BLOOD
combines with haemoglobin to make oxyhaemoglobin
