The sun heats the ground which in turn heats the air above it which rises and cools, condenses and forms clouds resulting in rain

Relief rainfall
Warm, moist air from the mountains is forced to rise which then cools, condenses, forms clouds and rains

Frontal rainfall
When a warm air mass and a cold air mass meet, the warm air is forced to rise as it is less dense then CCC=P

Depressions
An area of low pressure that brings cloud, wind and rain

Tropical cyclone
Areas of intense low pressure also known as hurricanes, typhoons etc.

Storm surge
A rise in sea level caused by high winds pushing on the oceans surface from low pressure weather systems

Anticyclone
An area of high pressure caused by sinking air that brings clear skies and dry conditions

Drought
A prolonged period of abnormally low rainfall

Ecosystem
A community of animals, plants and micro-organisms together with the habitat in which they live

Environment
