between 1850-1914 why did so many people(Europeans) emigrate to the USA?
To escape religious prosecution. To escape over crowding. Lack of opportunity in Europe. Prospect of employment in the USA

Why didn't the USA join the League of nations?
they wanted to isolate them selves, they didn't want to be involved with Europe and European affairs.

What was the Fordney - McCumber tarriff? And when was it brought in?
it increased taxes on imported foreign goods to encourage people to buy American goods to help the USA grow, it restored high rates, it put high tarriffs on USA goods and included farm products. 1922.

no because it was letting people in from other countries, different languages and religions, didn't feel safe, letting people in from countries that resented eachother.
