Who were the Black Hand?
A secret terrorist group who planned to unite all Serbs by threats. They planned to assassinate Archduke Franz Ferdinand

Why was Franz Ferdinand shot?
He was the heir to the A-H throne. A-H had occupied Bosnia in 1908/9, but many Bosnian wanted to unite with Sebia. FF was visiting Bosnia during a day of celebration for being Sebian.

Germany declared war on Russia and implemented the Schlieffen Plan

Why was the Schlieffen Plan implemented by Germany?
It was designed to prevent a war on two fronts (France and Russia) as this would mean dividing her army into two.

How did the Schlieffen Plan work?
Germany would rapidly attack France through neutral Belgium, taking her by surprise. France would lose and they could concentrate on Russia.
