Stanly Milgram in 1961, the first aim was to see if people would obey a precived figure of authority and see if they would obey to a point of harming others and to prove the germans are different theory wrong and prove that everyone has it in them to

what was the meathod used and describe the participants.
the meathod was lab. the partipants were 40 males and between the ages of 25-50. who were from unskilled to skilled jobs. they were recruited via newspaper advert and payed $4.50 at it was held at yale university.

what did they think they went for and how were the roles chosen.
memory and the effects of punishment in learning. by a hat with teacher on each paper, determined role. there was the teacher(participant) and experimenter and learner who were stooges(Actors)

what was the task and what happened
the learner was taken to another room and strapped to an electric chair, the teacher got a 45v. questions with multiple choice answers if wrong they got electric shock. was added 15v each time. from 15v-450v. were given prods if in distessed.

what were the results. And conclution
100% went up to 300v and 65% were fully obedient and went to 450v. anyone is capable of hurting innocent people by obeying people who is seen as authority.

they were payed, the experimenter characteristics, believed he was trainer, the prods, they passed on responsibility, after 300v silence, yale university, they traveled a lot to be there, believed it could of been anyone
