Weaknesses?
Food is not associated with attachment due to Harry Harlow's study (1959) 'The origins of love' - He created wired mothers for a caged monkey; one had a soft cloth all around it; and the other one had a bottle with food the monkey chose the cloth.

What is Shaffer and Emerson (1964) study about?
They observed 60 human babies from working class families for a year. They found that they weren't most attached to the person who fed them but to whom who was most responsive and interacted with them. - This is against the Cupboard love.
