Why does the heart beat?
The muscles in the cell walls contract then relax

How does the heart beat?
The muscular walls contract, and blood is forced out under high pressure. Then the heart relaxes, and it's filled up with blood again.

What parts make up the heart?
Both the left and right side of the heart have a upper atrium and lower ventricle. The valve on each side allows blood to flow from the atrium to the ventricle, where it then is pumped to the rest of the body.

What do the viens do in circulation?
The two viens ( vena cava and pulmonary viens) return the blood to the heart

What do the arties of the heart do in circulation?
The arteries are the exit point of the heart for the blood, and there are two types (pulmonary and aorta). Valves at the end of the pulmonary arteries prevent backflow of the loodstream.
